Hello again King of Gear! I was just looking at the From the Basement video for Staircase, and it seems that Ed's 360/12 Jetglo, which is definitely the 12 String model, is only stringed with 6 rather than the 12 Strings it could hold. Perhaps, he's changed the use of the guitar. BUT then, If we go check the Austin city limits performance we can clearly see by the bridge that he's gone back to the 12 strings. Is this common for him to do? Cheers

It isn’t documented besides this single case, so not common.

Maybe there was a technical issue with his Fireglo during the from the Basement sessions, and so he strung the Jetglo to six strings. Or maybe it was just on a whim; he wanted the sound of that specific Rick but felt like using six-strings for Staircase. Then, when it came to touring, he went back to twelve-strings for Airbag and just kept it for Staircase.
