I'm not so sure about the idea of Thom triggering the 'duck' sample with his foot and a unit on his board. At 00:24 you can hear the same sound, and a few other times in the track - Thom's feet aren't near his board most times, hence my skepticism. It does sound like a duck, though. I think it's a percussion instrument either being played live or being triggered by someone else. Thoughts?

The noise at 00:24, and which repeats a few times(again at 00:39, 00:53, etc), sound distinctly, if subtly, different from the duck noise which Thom triggers. It’s also quieter in the mix. I think that the first noise is probably being triggered or played by Joey, as Mauro’s hands are full. However, the duck noise appears only when Thom has that feet in that exact spot. He taps his foot right on the footswitch in exact time with the louder and slightly quackier duck noise. It just seems like too much of a coincidence that they raised the volume for the one repeat when Thom stomps on some mystery footswitches exactly in time with the sound trigger.

In terms of the original sound, it reminds me of a Guiro, though I’m not sure that it is one. It certainly sounds like something wooden.
