Great website by the way! The pictures of Atoms for peace rehearsing in that room with the american flag on the ceiling are interesting. I have seen cloth shaped in a similar way on the ceiling in other radiohead studio pictures (google image search: "55125d1208049885-durms-used-phil-selway-drummer-radiohead-question-0084-copy") . Is this a way of accoustically treating a room or something? If so why not use panels? and what type of sound does it achieve?

To be honest, I bet they just wanted their practice space to have a vibe that they liked and that giant flag did it for them on some level. Being comfortable in the practice/recording/live space is an important factor in making music, even if it’s immediate sonic effects aren’t as directly obvious as different types of rooms and let alone gear.
